A very warm hello from Swabia!
I’m new to the forum and will introduce myself this afternoon because of “grandchild alarm.”
Does anyone here have experience with Tunisian crochet, especially patterns—and, veeeery important for me, entrelac?
I can’t find any written pattern anywhere.
Could someone help me out?????
Or is there a pattern I can buy?
I’ve already bought lots of patterns and am doing really well with them.
Hi Elfi,
welcome to our forum and portal.
We have quite a few users here who are into Tunisian crochet. I’m sure they’ll chime in on this thread.
I hope you have a great time here with us.
Best regards from Mod Josefa
Hi Luise,
thank you so much for the super-fast reply.
I’ve been Googling until my fingers are sore. There are lots of posts about entrelac knitting—
I picked that up from YouTube.
A little while ago, I also looked at Tunisian crochet and crocheted along at the same time.
So there I am, armed with yarn and hook, crocheting a bit, then running it back again
............
I hope it turns out okay.
At the moment I’m trying out a scarf in lace yarn with a size 8 hook in a star pattern.
I think it’ll turn out okay.
Kind regards
Elfi
You’re welcome. That’s exactly what I do, too, when I discover a new pattern on YouTube. Entrelac crochet looks beautiful—I hadn’t seen that before. I’ll have to try it, too.
Hi Elfi,
there are also two lovely books on Tunisian crochet by Cendrine Armani:
Tunisian Crochet: Decorations and Fashion Accessories
and
Tunisian Crochet Rediscovered: Ideas for Decorations and Accessories
The first book explains the basic Tunisian crochet stitch and how to change colors with it, and it includes many projects.
The second book explains 6 different Tunisian crochet patterns (simple stitch, elongated stitch, full stitch, lattice pattern, openwork pattern, knit stitch, diagonal cable pattern, straight cable pattern, decorative stitch) and Tunisian crochet in the round, and it also includes many projects!
If you want to really dive into Tunisian crochet, these books are definitely worth recommending.
Question for everyone here on the forum: Who among you does Tunisian crochet or is interested in it?
Hi Hilde,
The Tolas look great!
I’ve also made progress with YouTube. Now I get it, but I had to put everything aside—
my daughter brought her wish list, and Fabian (5) wants a hat with headphones
, a cardigan, and a hooded sweater. His favorite colors right now are black and orange.
Right now I’m wishing, “Dear God, let me grow two more hands.”
