Yes, there might be some Black Forest cake this afternoon; my nieces have prepared something. Today we’re going out to eat; my husband and children have the day off.

I’m still blown away by the gifts. A North Sea beach chair in the Black Forest — even though I usually don’t wish for much, it’s been on my wish list for years for my 40th birthday, including a vacation up north next year.

This is going to be a great day today.
