Almost.
I still have to finish a rush order today. That’s definitely
going to be an all-nighter.
On Friday, I’ll pack our suitcase, and on Saturday morning we’re leaving for vacation at
6 a.m.
Everything that the Christ Child brings for the holidays is ready.
I only started working on the cat for my friend’s daughter yesterday. But we won’t see each other until December 28. It will definitely be finished by then.
Now the plan for what to cook for Christmas is all set, too. My mother-in-law is sick, and she had invited everyone over for dinner on December 25. So we’ll be having raclette at our place.
And hopefully a few quiet days.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to make a single crocheted gift this year—not even the “little creature” for my dad :( He’ll just have to get it later—I’m sure he’ll still be happy to receive it then.
Other than that, all the gifts are pretty much taken care of now.
My dad and my grandma are still getting homemade photo calendars; we just need to print out the pictures tomorrow, and then everything will be ready.
Luckily, I don’t have to cook. We actually wanted to celebrate at our place this year, but now everything’s back to normal, and I get to be waited on for three whole days :)
So, today I wrapped the last of the gifts. Tomorrow I’ll buy the items that keep longer, and the rest on Friday or Saturday. On Friday, I still have to bake the stollen (I can only do that at the very last minute, otherwise it’ll be gone by Christmas!), and on Saturday I’ll make the traditional herring salad for Christmas Eve. Then on the 24th, there’ll be nothing left to do.
I wish everyone peaceful holidays! Remember: They’re celebration days!
Hi
ich habe just like every year, I bought my gifts at almost the very last minute (today)... shame on me
crocheted a few more gift tags... and I’m looking forward to spending time with the whole family.
Wishing everyone here a Merry Christmas. I’m already looking forward to the New Year so I can browse all the great patterns again.
Best regards
I’m so jealous of everyone who’s already talking about their gifts being all wrapped up! For me, it’ll be a miracle if everything gets done in time, since I always take on too much and keep coming up with new ideas—for example, I “absolutely have to” crochet a few more snowflakes, and the bubble roses aren’t finished yet either… And I would have loved sooo much to crochet some nativity figures! (Well, there’s still time for that after Christmas!)
I’ve finished the red Christmas socks. But other than that, I’m not really getting into the Christmas spirit this year, because it’s already clear that it’s going to be more stressful than festive.
I still have to wrap the presents, and a little Christmas cleaning wouldn’t hurt either.
I already wrapped the gifts for my daughter and her family last week and dropped them off at the post office. Other than that, we’re celebrating in a very small group this time and aren’t exchanging gifts—everyone’s bringing something to eat, and that’s it. I’m bringing marzipan stollen and red wine muffins, but I won’t bake them until Saturday. I already bought everything for that today, so everything’s totally relaxed.
