Well, I think the photo was just used as an ad for the early-bird discount—the finished set isn’t available yet. In that case, it’s fine.

you might want to check Fotolia’s Terms of Service to see if this type of use is allowed. But since this is CP and not makerist, there’s nothing I—or we—can do about it.
If we accuse other providers here of any “violations,” make comments about their quality, or evaluate their presence or products, they may issue us a cease-and-desist notice. It’s important to keep that in mind.

If a pattern on CP were to advertise using an image from Fotolia, I would forward the matter to Alexander, because I believe that a pattern should contain only and exclusively its own images. I don’t know off the top of my head whether that also applies to thumbnails. I’ll bring this up with Alexander and, if necessary, discuss appropriate guidelines for the patterns here on CP with him.

I think we should wrap up this discussion here, since, as I mentioned above, we shouldn’t be evaluating patterns on other platforms or the offerings of other platforms, as that could potentially result in a cease-and-desist letter.
