Dear users, dear authors,
since many handmade projects need to be finished before Christmas now, the Yarn Diet / Yarn Emperor/Empress is taking a break until January.
Have fun shopping and using up your yarn.
More project dates:
October-November Leftovers-Bestovers // use up leftover yarn and receive compliments 10/30 to 11/6.
New date for UFO Week:
11/13-11/19 or 11/20
December
No UFO Week in December; instead, Project Wollstube will be running:
1st Sunday of Advent until last minute before Christmas: Heavenly Wollstube (suggestion by Mowi19 ): finish Christmas gifts
"between the years": Hopefully there will be time then for more extensive
projects. Starting in November, we’ll collect suitable ideas, and there will also be
a thread for introducing the projects.
Wow, that’s great, Josefa! I’m already looking forward to the Heavenly Yarn Room. Everyone can present their Christmas yarn room there with all the beautiful gifts that are finished and those that are still last-minute projects.
We can give each other tips, enjoy some punch or delicious tea with Christmas cookies, and simply share the festive anticipation together.
I’m sure there will be plenty of lovely gift ideas to share in the Heavenly Yarn Room.
Somehow, I’m already feeling a bit of the Christmas spirit…
I’ll be joining in on the UFO projects again, too. And using up leftover yarn sounds great as well.
I feel exactly the same way as Heike—I, too, am trying to work from my stash as much as possible.
I’m really excited about the Heavenly Wool Room and looking forward to it. It already sounds so much like the smell of “Guetzli” (that’s what we call cookies here), candlelight, and pre-Christmas secrets…
Yes, I’m really looking forward to it too, especially when I see how excited you all are.
I feel like Heike now, too. I want to reduce my stash. Quite a bit of my yarn will be turned into new projects before Christmas.
I have to admit, I’ve never worked with a gradient yarn cake either. Next year I’ll give it a try. This year, from now on, it’s time for a yarn diet. Otherwise I’ll have to wish for a new cabinet for Christmas ... and preferably a new apartment to go with it. ;-)
So using up leftovers is coming at just the right time.
Have a lovely evening, everyone, and let your projects grow and your yarn mountains shrink.
Would you like to have a project week for using up gradient yarn cakes?
I don’t earn anything from it, no commission, etc., but maybe it’s still awkward that you’d have to buy a yarn cake specifically for it?
I wouldn’t buy a cake of yarn just for a cake-of-yarn week. I wouldn’t even know where I could get one that quickly. But that shouldn’t spoil anyone’s fun!
