How to sew crochet pieces on correctly

Hi everyone, I found the pattern for Eddie the Moose here.  Now I want to sew on the individual antler pieces. But no matter how I try (I’m new to sewing), it doesn’t look good in the end—you can see the outlines of the other piece, and the antlers don’t look right. I’ve already sewn on the head, arms, etc., but I just can’t get this part to look nice. Does anyone have a tip for me?

ah yes, that lovely business of sewing things together — it really isn’t easy and is something everyone dreads. I’m not familiar with the pattern for your moose, but the important thing is to take plenty of time when sewing it together, using only small stitches and working stitch by stitch. If you’re still finding it too difficult with the yarn, I recommend using sewing thread in a matching color. You can barely see it, and then it’s not as noticeable if the stitching isn’t perfect. I hope I was able to help you. I’m sure there are also videos on YouTube that you can watch.

I have to admit, I don’t like sewing amigurumi pieces together either, and I try to avoid it or keep it to a minimum. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with your pattern, but maybe my “tricks” will help you.
For example, whenever possible, I try to crochet the arms right into the body instead of sewing them on (place the end of the arm on the body’s stitches you’re crocheting, and for the next few stitches, always pull the yarn through both the arm and the body as you crochet). Or instead of crocheting the head separately and sewing it onto the body, I like to crochet it directly onto the body—to do this, skip the first few rounds of the head so the number of stitches matches (adjust slightly if needed). However, this doesn’t work with every head.

If I can’t “cheat” to avoid sewing it on, I first pin the parts to be sewn onto the body in the correct position; the second step is then to secure the part with a few stitches all around. Once the position is right, I sew the part in place with small stitches all around.
The advantage of this intermediate step is that when I’m finally sewing it on, I don’t have to deal with pins slipping out of place or pricking me, and the piece I’m attaching can’t shift unintentionally. And if the position isn’t right, those few stitches can be quickly undone and corrected.
