Hi everyone,
I found this link and wanted to share it with you.
As far as I know, Burda Publishing also offers sewing patterns and the like. And as far as I can tell, this booklet—which was compiled from blog posts—is also about DIY and interior design.
What do you think about offline editorial teams compiling blog posts into a printed booklet?
Does the essence of a blog post get lost in the process? Blogs are actually pretty fast-paced, and you can leave comments there—so you can interact with others.
With a printed magazine, none of that works as well, since you need lead time for the printing and layout. And you can’t just leave a comment on the spot via a comment section—that’s not
possible either. But it does last a bit longer.
I do think, though, that you’d write texts for print a little differently than for blogs. Links in the text don’t make much sense, since you can’t just click on them.
But setting that aside: If a publisher approached you, would you want to see your blog posts in print?
We discussed a while back that many contributors here would love to have their patterns published in print.
But when it comes to blog posts, maybe it’s a different story?
What do you think?
After all, thematically, the Burda magazine isn’t too far off, and I’m sure you have an opinion on this. I’d love it if we could have a discussion with some interesting perspectives.
