Would it be theoretically possible to offer two categories of patterns—for example, one for beginners and one for advanced crocheters? I’ve been crocheting for a very long time and have plenty of practice. When I buy patterns, I’m always shocked by the sheer number of pages I have to print out. There’s a lot I don’t even need, especially the beautiful photos and detailed explanations.

That’s a good point; I’ll see how I can implement it in my patterns.

Best regards, Melanie

Hi,

well, I don’t know how other authors handle this, but in my patterns, 90% of the content specifically for beginners is in a separate section—with the appropriate amount of detail, of course. You can always skip those pages when printing. Minor details are included in the main pattern, but they’re just a few sentences that make up only a few lines of the entire pattern.

Best regards,
Maike

Hello

I feel the same way, you can select which pages to print before printing.
So just skip the pages you don’t need
and the problem is solved :-)

Leaving out the pages I don’t need — I’d already thought of that, of course — but even then, with a pattern for a small Easter bunny that was 50! pages long, I still ended up with 25 pages, since there are naturally pictures between the row instructions. I can’t delete the pictures or condense the text.

Best regards, babss
