Dear users, dear authors,
if we were in the desert, we would need camels, dromedaries, rugs, and long robes that make the sun more bearable. Maybe a few cacti or snakes too?
What else comes to mind?
I'm curious to hear.

@Autoren,
2–3 patterns per author with the usual info are enough.
Have fun.

In the desert, you should protect yourself from the heat as well as from the cold at night.

How about this:

A Touch of Something.. Reversible Cowl/Hooded Scarf - One Size - easy to knit

“A Touch of Something..” – versatile to wear e.g. as a reversible cowl / hooded scarf / shoulder warmer.

One size – easy to knit.

The PDF pattern includes images from the image gallery.

These basic knitting skills are needed:
casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knit 2 stitches together
knitwise, increase 1 stitch, knitting in the round, bind off.

We need:
just under 50 g Austermann Kid Silk (75% kid mohair, 25% silk, 25 g/LL 225 m (hand wash) needle size 3 – 4;
used here: size 3.5 circular knitting needle, stitch marker, yarn needle for weaving in ends, measuring tape, scissors

For knitting beginners, I recommend suitably thin (lace) yarns without mohair.

Crochet pattern: Lurchi from the Desert

Details & Pattern

This lizard can be found almost everywhere in the world—and maybe soon near you, too.
This is the lizard “Lurchi”—his scaly coat (crocheted in a pearl stitch) protects him from the sun.

These animals are wondrous and utterly charming creatures. If you’d like to have an iguana or a lizard as a pet, you can make that wish
come true.

These cacti don’t belong in the desert — they belong in the sewing room or on the windowsill! The advantage: They still need to be cared for, and they’re also very practical for anyone who loves to sew. This original pincushion is very easy to make from a few scraps of green and brown yarn. Why not give it to a sewing-crazy friend — or treat yourself! The pattern is available here: Click me!
