You know you’re a yarn addict if...

...you can’t walk past any yarn shop ;-)

...your yarn stash just keeps getting bigger

... you always have needles and yarn tucked into every bag.

...when the door to your yarn closet won’t close properly anymore.

...when you pick out yarn to match your wallpaper.

... when you disappear into a yarn shop for hours while on vacation—even if your husband is waiting outside somewhere and ends up getting sunstroke

... the first thing you do in every store is check whether they happen to have yarn anywhere.

My husband says that as long as I haven’t found any yarn
in my bed so far, everything’s fine!!

... Your motto is:
Wool comes from wanting. Otherwise, it would be called need. ;-) 

... your yarn stash keeps growing and space is getting tighter and tighter.

... when you’re already storing yarn in the pantry and laundry room because the shelf, closet, and chest in your study are full. And you dream of converting the attic to set up yarn shelves.

Oh, it’s so nice to read your comments. I AM a wool addict! All the signs point to it. If you wanted to fight an addiction, you’d take away the addictive substance. Can you imagine life without wool???

...I just can’t live without wool—heeeelp—it’s impossible, which is why I’ve got a shop now, because having it at home just wasn’t enough anymore... I want to stay addicted to wool because “that’s just the way it is”!!

when I’m constantly searching CP for new, awesome designs to make, even though I know there’s no way I can bring to life all the projects floating around in my head (especially right before I fall asleep!)…

...when I start hiding yarn because I already have plenty, but I don’t want to have to explain yet again why I’ve ordered more yarn...

And you’d be amazed at all the places you can find yarn in my house

You ask your boss if he can pay you in wool instead

... when you count stitches instead of sheep to fall asleep

... you don’t convert euros to Deutschmarks, but to balls of yarn

when you can’t stop knitting even with tennis elbow and just prop your arm up on a pillow

...when you can’t bring yourself to throw away leftover yarn—you never know when you might need it someday...

... when your fingers want to do nothing but knit, crochet, or make something else with yarn!

That thing about checking stores to see if they have yarn and supplies is totally true, too!
And I’m disappointed every time I see supplies and think, “Already have it. :-(”

I've been here before too! We'll be back on vacation in Bernau soon—I wonder if there's anything new at the little shop?

... when you’re sitting among a bunch of relatives at your nephew’s baptism, shifting nervously in your seat, everyone’s giving you weird looks, and all you can think is: When are we going home... I want to crochet!!!

When 4 baskets under the living room table aren’t enough anymore and 8 more get moved to the bedroom… filled with yarn, of course *g*

When you dream about knitting patterns you absolutely have to have, but can’t find them anywhere

...when you Google where the yarn shops are at your vacation spot before you leave :D

... When you can’t walk past a ball of yarn without immediately taking it with you 

... when you don’t want to go to the movies anymore, but would rather wait for the movie to come out on DVD because you can’t crochet in the dark (like you can at home in front of the TV) :-)

When the very first thing you look for on vacation is a yarn shop. 

Mea maxima culpa. And I thought I was the only one:
- who hides yarn
- who has a stash that could easily last a year of knitting
- who even looks for yarn shops while on vacation
- who simply can’t resist
- who realizes that blue isn’t just blue and can show off the entire color palette.
- who no longer knows where else to store yarn

and is simply happy about it.
After all, yarn is the better psychiatrist

You people out there are amazing - I feel right at home here

Here’s a fresh one from yesterday.... 

.... you’re trying to hide the kids’ Christmas presents, and in your hiding spot in the basement, some yarn jumps right out at you (which I’d totally forgotten about—I was so happy!)

... you put a crochet hook next to your plate of spaghetti instead of a fork :-D

... your youngest child complains that they don’t have any toy boxes left because Mom puts her yarn in all of them ;-)
