Neon is back in style / ’90s revival (not an ad)

Dear users, dear authors,
you’ll have to brace yourselves—the ’90s are making a comeback. The ’80s, too, apparently. That’s just how fashion works: nothing stays out of style forever.
Well then, brace yourselves for neon accents everywhere.
Do you like neon, the ’90s, or the ’80s?
Maybe we’ll see big hair again—those blow-dried styles with tons of hairspray. Hairdressers will definitely be happy about that. :-)

I’m a child of the ’80s, but there are still some fashion faux pas I’d rather not see again. These include neon colors, mullet hairstyles, tight perms, and carrot pants. Oh, and I don’t really need those Krystle Carrington-style shoulder pads either. ;-))))

Hmm… I don’t like neon colors at all. Despite Jane Fonda’s neon leg warmers… But I do like pink and turquoise. Everything comes back eventually.

Back in the ’80s and ’90s, I was the same age as my kids are now. If only my mom had kept those clothes.
I often feel transported back to that time when I see them now—
everything with big palm trees and lots of neon colors. Bright yellow and green—sometimes I think my son must glow in the dark.
And honestly, I’ve got those neon ankle socks now, too. They look really great with 3/4-length jeans.
And I also love those colorful T-shirts in every color of the rainbow.

I can’t keep up with the hairstyles, though. I tie my long hair back at the nape of my neck because it’s easy. My daughter does the same.
My son has been refusing to go to the hairdresser for the past five months and already looks like a girl. Thanks to the heat wave, he’s finally made an appointment. He’d rather go with my mom, and I’ll just have to wait and see if he comes back with blow-dried waves to match his neon clothes. Or were those not a thing in the ’80s and ’90s?

I thought neon colors were awful even back then! Especially that pink paired with neon yellow—it really hurt my eyes! So I don’t necessarily have to jump on that bandwagon.
