Patterns for Warm Socks

Hello, dear authors, and of course, hello, dear readers,
In this thread, authors are welcome to share their patterns for warm socks. Warm socks are an absolute must during the cooler months, so demand is likely to be high. Please note: I’ll be starting a separate thread for slippers; this one is just for socks.

These little boots (socks) can be used in many ways. Designed as St. Nicholas boots to hold small treats and be placed outside the door on St. Nicholas Day.
But they’re also perfectly suitable as gift wrapping for a small present under the Christmas tree. Anyone with shoe size 36/37 will also be happy to wear these boots as house socks or slippers.

The fur trim looks super cozy

It’s really comfortable to wear too ... and is crocheted from teddy yarn.

So you can crochet with this teddy yarn directly? I would have thought it would be more like a piece of teddy fleece that then somehow gets sewn in.

No, you can crochet it... it’s what I always call “fuzzy yarn”... it’s not exactly easy to crochet with if you don’t know the tricks—which I’ll of course reveal in the pattern—but basically, you’re crocheting blind because you can’t see your stitches... which makes sense because it’s so plush... But there are a few tricks to making really beautiful things with teddy yarn. And once you get a feel for teddy yarn, it’s not that hard to crochet with at all.
