I’d love to see a list of the different types of yarn and what they can be used for.

I keep having trouble with the yarn weight specifications in English patterns. How can I compare them to the German specifications? The yardage doesn’t really tell you much; it’s more about the needle size.

There’s a website that lists these comparisons.

I think it would be great if we could create a similar list here.

In English, there aren’t just the different yarn weights (lace, fingering-weight, sport-weight, etc.), but also WPI (wraps per inch).
