Hi Schnatter,
Well, I like to use
-
summer sweaters and tops: cotton or cotton-blend yarns, possibly with silk or linen
- Traditional garments: traditional wool for men’s outdoor jackets, merino yarns for us ladies, and merino or special saliva-resistant merino-microfiber blends for babies
- Hats and scarves: merino / merino blends, alpaca, 6-ply sock yarn
- Jackets, shawls, scarves: (lace) merino, alpaca, KidSilk (mohair), sock yarns (e.g., with cashmere)
- Potholders: 100% cotton
-
Socks: I prefer sock yarns with alpaca, merino, cashmere, or aloe vera/jojoba oil—they’re so wonderfully soft and cozy even while you’re knitting
Well, actually, I like all kinds of yarns, since—luckily—no yarn ever itches me :-)
So for my outdoor jackets, I also absolutely love completely natural sheep’s wool.
