HELP

First of all, hello everyone.
I really need some help with the pattern for a doll’s bathrobe from the book *Crochet Your Own Doll Clothes*.
Place the front and back pieces wrong sides together and sew them together across the outer 6 hStb for the shoulders. Then, for the hood, crochet over the 6 hSst on each front piece and the 28 hStb on the back piece as follows: Crochet 40 hStb on rows 1–14. Now my question is, where do I sew these pieces together, and where do I start on the hood?
This is what it looks like so far.

Hi, you’ll fold the shoulder seams together and sew together the specified number of stitches, starting from the sleeves. You’ll then crochet the hood using the remaining stitches.

What’s confusing me is the decrease on the inside. Shouldn’t that have been on the outside?

I also think it works the way Nadelkissen says: you fold the left side to the right and the right side to the left. In total, there should be 12 stitches on each side along the top edge. The outer 6 stitches are sewn together (6 from the front piece and 6 from the back piece) — the left 6 stitches on the left side and the right 6 stitches on the right side. Then you crochet the hood onto it. You start on one side with the 6 remaining stitches, pick up the 28 stitches from the back piece, and the 6 remaining stitches from the front piece. That makes 40 stitches. It should work out that way ;-).
