Dear users and authors,
what are you working on right now?
Let me know.

I’m still working on my mouse. But now it’s time for the final push—if only I didn’t keep falling asleep… Somehow my hay fever has teamed up with a cold and settled in my bronchial tubes and throat. I’ve completely lost my voice (my husband is thrilled). But after sleeping for an hour, I’m ready to get back to it. I think I’ll be able to start sewing it together tonight.

I’m still working on my big shawl—it’s going to take a while yet. On the side, I’m also crocheting little chickens as decorations for Easter.

I’ve finally gotten around to making paper (scatter) flowers, and once again, I’m thrilled with how they turned out :-). The pattern is actually already finished, but I want to make lots and lots of flowers in all kinds of color variations, so it’ll be a while before I publish the pattern. On the side, I’m also designing a few Easter items—I’m not sure yet if any of them will be ready this year, or which ones.

I’ve actually started two projects in parallel! ;-)
One is a shawl-style vest and the other a Möbius scarf, both crocheted.

I’m still working on my crochet dress, but since it’s taking so long, I’ve started working on a loop scarf in the meantime :-)

My table looks like a battlefield right now—my animals’ limbs are scattered all over it ;-)

And I’m getting a really deep pressure mark on my thumb because my crochet hook is working overtime to finish crocheting my little animals by Sunday—for once, I’m stressed out while crocheting, since they’ll be picked up then and I still need to take pictures... Definitely not enough hands!

Is there actually any crochet hook out there where the hook—the metal part—is only 1 cm long? Then I wouldn’t get any pressure marks ;-)

Best wishes, Sabine

I’m currently using up some leftover yarn. For some reason, I have a lot of yellow. Right now I’m crocheting squeaky ducks. They really look like the little ducks Ernie always has in the bathtub. And they squeak, too.

Why do they squeak???

Hi Arni, because I put a squeaker inside it. You can get them at Nähzwergen in Saarbrücken. The squeakers are really flat and fit perfectly inside the duck’s body. It’s funny when someone accidentally squeezes the duck because it reminds them of a rubber duck, and suddenly the crocheted duck can squeak too, right?

Yesterday I finally sewed almost all of the spikes onto my daughter's dragon tail. She says 3 more spikes, then it will be finished. We'll tackle that today.

Then yesterday I got started right away on the little elephant my friend wants. She just doesn't know yet what it should look like, so she'll get 2 models that have been floating around in my head for a while. We'll see which one she likes better.

And on the side, I'm working on the long-term project for my son. The big bedspread.

@Arni
Get well soon!

Pe-Ka: Thanks. The funny thing is, I’m actually doing fine—it’s just that talking and breathing are a bit of a struggle... But I can still crochet. :-)
Uschimaus: That’s really funny :-)

I’m currently knitting my first triangular shawl. I started with 3 stitches and now have 225 stitches on the needle, with half the yarn still left. Usually, I prefer to start on the wide side (I’ve only crocheted that way so far), and then the shawl gets narrower and narrower until it’s finished. But doing it the other way around, I feel like it’s taking forever and ever…… What’s keeping me going is the yarn. It starts with dark gray and ends with light gray. When do you really start to notice the color gradient? That’s what I’m eagerly looking forward to, and I patiently keep knitting row by row.

The weekend starts today for us, so I’ll have plenty of time for crafts.

Since I’m waiting for yarn for a new design for a cooperation partner, I’m knitting the Marrakesh shawl with a shorter color gradient from Lang. The shawl serves as a sample piece for my markets.

Every now and then I part with original shawls because I can’t refuse customers when they wish for a shawl, so I have to make sure I have replacements from time to time.

I wish you all a lovely knitting weekend.

Best regards

Christa

My hot water bottle just got a new “turtleneck sweater”! Just need to weave in the loose ends, take some photos, and write up the knitting pattern—then hopefully it’ll be available in my shop next week!

I’ve been working on a rattle for a friend’s little one for days now... but I keep getting distracted.
I have to finish it today, though, while my kids are asleep, because it’s supposed to be given as a gift tomorrow.

Today is our big dance event with about 250 female dancers and one (!) male dancer. That’ll keep me busy until this evening, but then it’s time to get started:
I’ve decided to give my sweetheart a lighthouse for his birthday on Wednesday. I just bought the pattern. So today, during prime-time TV, it’s “time to grab the crochet hook.”

I’m currently working on three shawls.
Two for the coming summer and a warm one for fall/winter
I always need a change of pace and new colors. That keeps me motivated to keep going and finish my projects.

I’m adding the border to my lace triangle shawl now.
After that, I’ll revise the pattern I’ve jotted down so far.

Lighthouse finished — my husband is happy = it was worth the effort.
