Experimenting with Different Crochet Stitches - Crochet Tips

Hello dear crochet friends,

do you like experimenting with different crochet stitches, or do you prefer using the “normal” stitches in different shapes?
I’m always happy when I can try out new patterns, and I also enjoy using them in my creations.

In this thread, I’d like to present some beautiful crocheted borders as edgings and show how they can be used.

I’d like to start with a romantic ruffle border:

Pattern for it: Work 1 single crochet, 3 chain stitches, and 1 double crochet into the first stitch, skip the next stitch, then work 1 single crochet, 3 chain stitches, and 1 double crochet into the next stitch again, skip the next stitch again. Repeat this until the end of the row or round.
If you’d like to make the ruffles in 2 colors, as I did in my photo, you can do the same again with another color. To do this, crochet 1 ruffle into each arch of the previous round.

Have fun crocheting it!!!

If you now feel like crocheting the whole pair of shoes, you can find my complete pattern here:

For my little pirate shoes

Complete pattern here: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/2833/anleitung-zum-haekeln-fuer-baby-schuhe-kleiner-pirat

I used a cool zigzag or pennant border

This is really super easy to crochet

Crochet 5 ch and then into them (starting in the 2nd stitch from the hook):
1 sl st, 1 sc, 1 hdc and 1 dc,
skip the next st (on your piece that you want to crochet the border onto), 1 sc in the next st, (this
attaches the point to your crochet piece),
1 sc in the next st and at this stitch start again with the foundation chain of 5
ch, etc. until the round or row is completely edged with
points.

Have FUN trying it out

Thank you—they’re so pretty; I’ll definitely give them a try.
Best regards, Heide
