After the contest is before the contest—or after Schnuffel comes Oily

With that in mind, I’ve posted a call for entries on Facebook for a new crochet contest.

I’m hoping for a lively turnout—it would be wonderful if we could get about as many participants as we did for Schnuffel (just over 300), because this time it’s not just about having fun and winning a prize—it’s also about doing some good along the way. Sometimes a picture is worth more than 1,000 words... This is a very good idea, donating the proceeds to the children's cancer charity. I hope a good amount comes together for it. The owl is very cute. The scarf is definitely a good thing during the current rainy spells. You write that the participation fee is at least one euro. Since it's about donations, I suppose there is also room to give more?

Everyone can donate as much as they’d like—some have already transferred 5 euros… which totally blew me away.
I figured I’d post the current donation total on Facebook every day—and, of course, the bank transfer receipt at the end of the campaign :-)
Originally, there was also a discussion on my Facebook page about donating the finished little animals… but everywhere I asked, there was either no need or they didn’t want them for hygiene reasons. But since I really liked the idea of “helping” and could really relate to it, I figured we could certainly make it work this way. So far, the response has been very positive. I hope it stays that way. If we could get a similar number of participants as last time (around 300)... that would be a dream—even if everyone actually only donated one euro. I mean—what’s one euro? It doesn’t really hurt anyone. But all together, you can do so much good with it.... *sigh*

Anyone else? Who hasn’t entered yet? There are still a few days left.... :-)
