2016 was a great year here on Crazypatterns with lots of fantastic patterns, but 2017 will be even better.
This thread will feature the highlights of the first patterns of 2017.

The monkey mom and the baby monkey are crocheted in the same way and bring joy to young and old alike.

For anyone already planning for Valentine’s Day—or who just wants to redecorate—I have these beautiful decorative garlands.


 
In my example, the five garlands are each about 80 cm long, but you can make more (or fewer) of them and also vary their length, depending on how you want to use them.

This pretty dress can be worn both in summer and in winter. With this pattern, it can be made in all sizes
(figures show size 86/92 and size 104/110). The
pattern consists of 17 pages with many explanations and plenty of

Material consumption depends on hook size and yarn weight:

Crochet Möbius Collar 1-2-3-4

This collar wonderfully jazzes up pullovers and shirts.

It is crocheted from approx. 60 g of a merino yarn with 50 g – 160 m yardage and hook size 3–4 (here with a 3.5 mm crochet hook) and is quickly finished in an afternoon. Beginners should allow themselves a little more crochet time.
Other yarns with a suitable hook size can also be used. In my opinion, however, the pattern shows up better in finer yarns.

The Möbius technique in crochet is considerably easier than in knitting. For the illustrated PDF pattern basic crochet skills are sufficient (chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, slip stitch). Link tips for learning to crochet are included.

With this crochet pattern, you can crochet a warm and windproof hat with ear flaps for yourself and your loved ones, friends, etc. The pattern is written for children and adults and includes many pictures and detailed step-by-step explanations, making it suitable even for beginners. You can also use leftover yarn for the pattern stripes and crocheted edging.

The first pattern of 2017: Hestia - Baby and Toddler Blanket



In Greek mythology, Hestia is the goddess of domestic life. She is actually symbolized by the hearth fire, but since she is the symbol of the home where newborn babies wait to be welcomed and accepted by the family, she was the perfect namesake for this baby blanket.

The pattern combines the classic granny pattern with filet crochet, making it very suitable for beginners. You only need to know the basic techniques listed.

Thanks to the filet pattern, the blanket is very light. Used double, it is still cuddly warm. With dimensions of 1.50 x 1.50 m, your little treasure will enjoy it well into toddlerhood.

Lorelei makes little girls’ dreams come true!
Little girls dream of being a mermaid one day. Lorelei is crocheted almost entirely in one piece and stands about 30 cm tall. I crocheted her using cotton yarn and a size 2 crochet hook.

You’ll need 50 g of cotton for the body, and just a few scraps will suffice for the tail. Add some stuffing, eyes, and a few pipe cleaners so the arms and legs can bend, and you’re all set to go.
What you’ll need to know: single crochet, magic ring, double crochet, and half double crochet, as well as increasing and decreasing stitches.
The crochet pattern is well illustrated and has been test-crocheted. 

What is a Ponchola?
A Ponchola is a combination of a stole and a poncho. With a little "trick," you get two wonderful clothing accessories in one!

I named this beautiful Ponchola after the cloud home "Fanyamar" because it is as delicate as a breath of air and soft as a cloud.

Fanyamar was designed for lace yarns, because that is the best way to show off its delicate and airy character. Still, the stole also looks dreamily beautiful in thicker yarns, such as sock yarn. However, the wool you choose should definitely not be any thicker than that.

Required materials:

• approx. 150 grams of wool (approx. 750 meters) lace yarn (e.g. Lace Seta / Lace Seta degradé by Lana Grossa, Laceball by Schoppel)
• circular knitting needle size 4, I recommend an interchangeable needle tip cable system
• kitchen scale
• stitch markers if needed
• sewing needle for weaving in the ends
• scissors
• if needed, a crochet hook and beads for the cord, or a piece of thin satin ribbon so the stole can be worn as a poncho

The stole is started at one corner with just 3 stitches. Regular increases and decreases give it its shape. The pattern includes stitch counts for 2 different sizes.

The narrower version measures approx. 60 x 160 cm after blocking.

The pattern is 12 pages long and includes a written-out version as well as charts and a schematic drawing. Difficulty level: intermediate to challenging.

They say all good things come in threes....

That’s why I have a new knitting pattern for baby shoes, this time in the form of a low shoe.


Here too, knit and purl stitches are enough, the pattern is well explained with pictures and easy to knit.

Leftover wool or cotton yarn is enough. Depending on the yardage, you get a sole length of 9–10.5 cm.

These shoes complement my hat pattern in terms of the design, and together they make a lovely gift for a new baby.

Anguis is the Latin word for snake. Because of the planned pooling, the storage basket reminds me a little of snakeskin, so I found the name quite fitting.

For this keychain, I used a different material than usual: the keychain is actually made from felt sheets. Otherwise, everything is as usual: cut out and assemble - the pattern explains exactly how to do it. The keychain is about 11 cm long and very easy to make.

The arrangement of the different stitches creates this pretty pattern, which looks simply wonderful from both sides.
Just turn it inside out depending on your mood. Get the pattern for this trendy

Hansel and Gretel are two beginner-friendly knitting patterns from me, for a men's model and a more playful women's model.

Even for the cables in the women's model, you only need to know knit and purl stitches.
What techniques do you need to know?

• casting on stitches
• knit stitches
• purl stitches

The pattern is short and to the point, kept to 3 pages, and contains only the instructions for the hat. The basic techniques mentioned are not explained separately in the pattern.

All this is included:

• suitable for beginners
• pattern for the women's model with faux cables
• pattern for the men's model with ribbing
• Both patterns in two sizes (S/M and L)

You’ll need these materials at home:

• 2 skeins Lana Grossa Cool Wool Merino Superfine (100% virgin wool) 50g/160m
• set of double-pointed needles 3.5 mm
• 1 stitch marker
• scissors
• yarn needle

New in January: definitely the super-warm hat for cold ears :-)
Emma + Lloyd...they keep out even icy winds nicely and have a clever color effect—depending on the stretch, you see the inner stripes more or less...
