Hi,

Good morning! I have a question and I hope you can help me. I’d really like to crochet a dress or tunic, but in a larger size—I can’t find anything I like at all; everything only goes up to size 42. It would be the first dress I’ve ever made for myself.

Do you have an idea of roughly what you’d like the dress to look like?
It probably won’t work without doing some calculations. But you could use the cut of a tunic that fits you well and use the stitch pattern from a smaller one. Then you’d need to make a gauge swatch. From that, you can calculate how many stitches you’ll need for the width. And then, every few rows, lay the crochet work on the cut and compare it.

Yeah, I don’t want it to be too wavy at the bottom—this would be the first dress or tunic I’ve ever made. 

Did you really not find anything here? I searched for “tunic.” There are so many beautiful patterns that are also suitable for plus sizes. But of course, that’s a matter of taste...

No, I don’t really like any of these—it has to be something I’ll actually wear, not something I make that just ends up hanging in the closet.
