Knitting a Cat with Fuzzy Yarn

Hi everyone,
I have a big problem.
I’m supposed to knit a cat for a good friend, and I promised her I’d give it a try.
Unfortunately, the entire body is made of fuzzy yarn, which I’ve never used to knit more than two or three rows before. I’ve started a few times already, but I keep getting tangled up and can’t tell the stitches apart on the double-pointed needles.
Do you have any advice for me on how I can tackle this project?

you could hold a very thin thread together with it. I’ve read several times that some people use this trick. You won’t be able to see the thread later—it’ll get lost in the “fuzz.”

Hi,
I would insert a smooth, colored strand of yarn after every 5 stitches, so you always know that
there should be 5 stitches up to that point ... maybe that helps!
