Amigurumi: Tips

Hi everyone,
I have a few questions about crocheting amigurumi:
What’s the best way to sew on arms, legs, and similar parts properly (!)? 
And above all, how do you weave in the ends afterward?
Most of the time the body is already stuffed, so you can’t weave the thread in on the inside.
I always fiddle around with it, but it’s far from perfect. 
And sometimes it doesn’t really hold. 
I’d be very grateful for any tips.
