Securing bag charms really well—do you have any tips?

Hi :)
How do you actually attach a keychain ring to a bag charm so it’s really secure and won’t come loose?
Or are they attached differently—without a keychain ring?

I haven’t made any bag charms or keychains yet because I don’t have much confidence in my skills, and I’d be worried that it might break off or something.

Are there any tips, tricks, or advice?

Hi, I use an elastic nylon cord for this—I thread it through and then sew it to the charm.

Can you get that elastic nylon cord at a yarn shop, or is it more likely to be found online?
