I don’t understand the pattern!! Please help!

Hi,
I need help understanding the pattern. It’s knitting pattern No. 95226 for a children’s sweater from Stoff & Still. The pattern instructions read:
“Row 1: Color 1 (right side): 1 edge st, knit 2 sts, *(knit 1, yarn over, knit 1) in the same st, 3 sts K*, repeat from * to *, and end the last repeat with 1 st K and 1 edge st."

What does "in the same stitch " mean? What am I supposed to do in the same stitch?!?

Welcome to our forum. You can contact Crazypatterns authors directly if you need help. Maybe you could also ask the author of your pattern directly? Someone here in the forum might be able to help you, too, but please be a little patient.

I think you’re supposed to knit what’s in parentheses into a single stitch, so: knit 1, yarn over, and then knit 1 more into the same stitch. Could that be right?

this is what it means:

You knit the edge stitch and 2 stitches knitwise. Insert the needle into the next stitch and pull up the yarn,
but don’t let the stitch slip off the needle as you normally would; instead, make a yarn over, insert the needle into the same stitch again, and pull up the yarn. Only then do you let the stitch slip off the needle. So from this stitch, you have now worked 1 stitch, 1 yarn over, and 1 stitch. Then you knit 3 stitches as usual and repeat the process with the next stitch.

In English, this is abbreviated as kyok (knit, yarn over, knit).
