Phishing Protection at Crazypatterns – a Race That Never Pauses

Dear community,

after the incident with the phishing messages in the product FAQs, we’d like to inform you in a bit more detail – because protection against this is not a one-time project, but an ongoing race.

We are continuously improving our automatic protection mechanisms. At the same time, attackers are also constantly developing their methods further. Both sides are always learning – there are no pauses.

Why the attacks are becoming more sophisticated:
One key driver is artificial intelligence. Texts without spelling mistakes, in the right tone, and generated in seconds – previously reliable warning signs such as “awkward German” are disappearing as a result. Security reports recorded a sharp increase in AI-generated phishing messages at the end of 2025, and authorities are explicitly warning about increasingly targeted, AI-assisted campaigns.

How seriously the situation is now being taken can also be seen among the major AI providers themselves:

• On June 12, 2026, Anthropic (Claude) had to shut down access to its most powerful models (Fable 5 and Mythos 5) in response to an export control order from the US government; their cyber capabilities were cited as the reason.
• On June 26, 2026, OpenAI initially released its new GPT-5.6 models (Sol, Terra, Luna), at the request of the US government, only as a limited preview for around 20 government-approved partners – likewise citing increased cybersecurity capabilities. A wider release has been announced.

In short: Even governments are now reviewing the strongest AI models before they become widely available. Tools like these are used by both sides – by attackers as well as defenders. That is exactly why this is and remains a long-distance race.

What this means for you:
Our automatic filters are getting better, but no filter is perfect. The most effective protection remains a combination of technology and awareness. Do not click links in suspicious messages, do not enter your login details anywhere, and report any unusual content to us.
