Have you ever been to a crochet/knitting movie night? What was your experience like?

Dear friends,
I went to a knitting movie night for the first time yesterday. I’m a bit torn about it. It was a small arthouse theater, and it was pretty warm in there, so the yarn didn’t run as smoothly as I would have liked. Before the movie, there was a nice chat with everyone. The movie (An Almost Perfect Proposal) then captivated me so much that I barely knitted. My friend also found it a bit too dark.
Bottom line: It was a lovely evening with like-minded people, but not again in the summer, and next time I’d bring a small light that you can wear around your neck.

What do you think about these knitting/crochet movie nights?

I haven’t done that yet, but I’d love to give it a try. At home, I also crochet and knit while watching TV, so doing that among like-minded people could be quite entertaining.

I’ve done that before, too: knitting at the movies. It was on a day that wasn’t too hot, so there were no problems with the yarn. ;-)
The theater wasn’t too dark, and you could see your work well. 
Since I’ve learned at my knitting group that challenging patterns tend to be counterproductive, I brought along a simple knitting project that I can knit almost blind.
All in all, it was a wonderful event. 
I also really enjoyed the movie “Wunderschöner.”

I don’t know... I’d really like to be able to focus properly on an interesting movie. And it would probably be too dark for me to knit.
I do like to knit while watching TV, but then I prefer shows or talk shows where you don’t have to watch constantly. And I always have a lamp with me that lights up my work well.

I’d love to do that. And I’d bring a simple project—socks, a scarf, or a loop, or something like that—nothing that requires counting.
I imagine it would be very cozy.
