Cat illusion

Hello, I would like to convert the cat illusion pattern into a blanket. Would it be best to use the shawl pattern or the Jacket/cardigan pattern? This does not need to be a big blanket, I knit for young children who have long stay in hospital.

I know this pattern from a sock book. I’ve also knitted these socks. If you want to make a blanket out of it, I would crochet each square using single crochet and change the color with each square. Or, if you prefer to knit, I would knit the squares. You could connect them by alternating them with empty squares.

maybe you could try CtC (Corner to Corner). That way, the blanket would be bigger. Best regards
