Earning on Crazypatterns – an overview

Hi everyone,

besides selling your patterns, there are a few other ways to earn extra or build up store credit on Crazypatterns. Here's a quick rundown.

For authors – extra ways to earn

• Creator Program (Blog Compensation): If you already blog about your handmade projects, you can earn up to €200 per published post. Write your post, submit the URL, and we'll pay 50% upfront once we approve it — the other 50% lands 90 days later. All the details.
  
• Blog posts on Crazypatterns: Posts you publish directly on the platform can be compensated too. Check the Content Rules for what we're looking for and how it works.
  

Heads-up: The difference between the two comes down to where you publish — the Creator Program is for posts on your own blog; Blog posts on Crazypatterns is for posts that go up here on the site.

For everyone – earn extra and build up credit

• Affiliate Program: Every account comes with a personal referral code. When someone signs up through your link and makes a first purchase, you earn 30% of it. They have 30 days from signing up to make that first purchase. More about the Affiliate Program.
  
• Newsletter Credit: Subscribe to our newsletter and start earning store credit — learn more.

Hello dear Crazypatterns team,
I have a quick question about compensation for editorial content directly on Crazypatterns.
In older forum posts from 2025, I read that compensation was apparently temporarily suspended.
Since there are now new content guidelines and up-to-date information about editorial content, I wanted to ask just to be on the safe side:

Is compensation for blog posts published directly on Crazypatterns currently active?
And how exactly do you apply for the first or second payment:

• Is there a specific menu item for this in the author area?
  
• Is the application submitted directly after the article is published?
  
• And is the second payment applied for separately after the 90 days have expired, or within the 90 days?

Just a quick follow-up question to clarify—sorry :-)
If a blog post is published directly on Crazypatterns in both German and English, does it count as a separate post for different language target groups, or would it already be considered duplicate content?
Since the target groups differ linguistically, I wanted to check just to be on the safe side.

Yes, the compensation for blog posts on Crazypatterns is active—we're happy about every post that is valuable and helpful for the community.

How to request the compensation:

• Open your published blog post
  
• Click the dropdown icon in the upper right (small arrow/caret)
  
• There you'll find the option to request the compensation directly
  

Important requirement:
Compensation can only be requested if your post appears on the blog homepage (Blog Home)—this is our quality filter. After publication, it usually only takes a few days for the post to be listed there. Only then is the first compensation possible.

Timeline:

1. First compensation: after inclusion on Blog Home
   
2. Second compensation: no later than 90 days after publication
   

If your post is high quality but does not appear on Blog Home, please feel free to contact Support—we'll take an individual look at what the reason might be. 🍀

About your language question:
German and English posts count as two separate posts—so they are not duplicate content. You can submit both separately and also request compensation for each one separately.
