Dear community,
what can you make with 50 g of yarn if you only have this one skein and maybe a few small leftovers in several colors?

That’s a question that can’t be answered in general terms.
As Petra already mentioned, you can go quite a long way with a thin yarn and make smaller pieces.
Dishcloths:

Crocheted hearts:

With a thick yarn, you’ll get much less out of it.
The labels often specify how many skeins you need, for example, for a sweater in a certain size.
Based on that, you can also estimate how much you’ll need for smaller pieces, such as a sleeve, etc. 😉
You should also consider yarn usage for different patterns and techniques (crochet or knitting, for example).

I bought this hat for my mom last March when her hair fell out after chemo. Exactly 50 g. P.S.: Her hair is back 😊

Of course, I bought the wool and knitted the hat. (Auto-correct 🤨)

A size 3 cotton skein is about 150 m long—that’s perfect for crocheting a 27 cm x 27 cm dishcloth, and you can use the leftover yarn to add colorful stripes.

It’s also great for crocheting a small cell phone pouch, and you can use the colorful yarn to crochet little hearts and flowers for decoration.

Otherwise, I can also think of a small mesh bag for your bikini when you head to the beach.

The question is a bit old, but I’d like to chime in too: With one ball of sock yarn, for example, you can knit children’s socks.
