Dear Community,
If someone gave you 1 ball of yarn and 2 hours, what would you do with it?

How big is the ball, anyway?

Is it thin yarn or thick yarn, and how heavy is the ball?

Put it aside and spend 2 hours thinking hard about what I could turn it into ;-)

Best, Inge

A quick baby octopus!
My daughter asked me at the last minute to make something small because her pregnant teacher was having a farewell party... I had the idea at 5 a.m., started crocheting without a pattern, and the octopus was finished right on time as she had to leave the house at 7 a.m. I just snapped a quick photo on the way out ☺️

I’d crochet some granny-style mug coasters or a bookmark 😀 ⏰ 🧶

I might do it like Inge,
or crochet myself a doily using the C2C technique—it’s quick and you don’t need a pattern

I’d give the ball of yarn to my cats and watch them play with it ;)

I’d make a dreamcatcher :-) and then make even more of them after those two hours :-)))

It depends on the yarn—a scarf, a hat, or a pillowcase. Unfortunately, 2 hours isn’t enough for my tank-style slippers; those take weeks.

Crochet a storage basket—you can always use one.
But above all, I wouldn’t let the time limit stress me out. I’d crochet nice and slowly, so that both the basket and I get something out of it.

If 2 hours isn’t enough time for you, we can extend it. That was just a general guideline.

I’m sure it varies from person to person—when I’m crocheting, new ideas come to me, so it’s hard to estimate how long it will take.

Best regards, Sabine
