Border for the “ALPENCHIC” GIRLS’ CARDIGAN pattern from “Knitting Trends”

Hi everyone,
Unfortunately, I’m having trouble with the border.
Insert the needle 5 times into one knit stitch + 2 yarn overs and then
pull through.
Does that mean knitting them off or letting them drop?
I’ve already tried everything—it doesn’t look good.
