Wool Diet 2026

Dear Community,
are there any of you here who are actually on the Wool Diet without building up a “wool mountain”?
How far have you gotten, or how long have you been on the Wool Diet?
Maybe you’d like to share your experiences.

I completed the 2025 Yarn Diet. Yeah. Plus, I actually knitted two pairs of socks, which means I also used up some yarn.
My goal for 2026 is to focus again on working with yarn or fabric rather than on buying it. Because, really, it’s nicer to have made something than to fill up the closet and add to the to-do list.
May this plan come true.

I never have any specific plans or goals, but so far I’ve always managed to keep everything under control. I don’t create any new storage space—if everything’s full, nothing new can move in. Sometimes I do end up buying new yarn, but I use it right away. And so far, there’s always been enough space by the time the Advent calendar starts that I’ve been able to store the new yarn from there as well.
I like to keep certain supplies on hand so I can give in to spontaneous urges. For smaller projects—amigurumi and things like that—I almost always have everything I need right away. For larger projects, though, I do have to shop specifically for them; I never have a complete stash for sweaters or jackets.
