I have just learned that Monika passed away in November. I had already noticed that things had been very quiet around her for some time. On her Facebook page, her husband has shared the sad news.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt and sincere condolences to him, her son, and her grandchildren.
Monika was always very active here on the forum and was loved by everyone for her sincere and warm nature.
May she rest in peace and delight the little angels in heaven with her many knitting ideas.

Dear Ruth, thank you for letting us know.
This is, unfortunately, very sad news that has shocked and deeply moved me. Monika—who radiated warmth from within, was humble, serene, warm-hearted, and friendly—was an important part of our forum. She gave something to everyone she came into contact with: namely, her time, compassion, attention, and praise. She was truly a giver.
When I think of her, I’m reminded of her legendary gingerbread cookies baked on a sheet pan—the recipe for which, thankfully, is saved here on the forum. And also her many beautiful, colorful knitting patterns for her beloved teddy bears and dolls. She truly loved what she did, and you could feel that. She will live on in her creative patterns and in the hearts of those who love her. But we’ll miss her here in our circle. Rest in peace, dear Monika.
I offer my sincere condolences to her husband, her son, her daughter-in-law, and her two grandchildren.

Monika was a true asset here at Crazypatterns. Until she fell ill, she was very active in the forum and always had a kind and encouraging word for everyone here. I came to know her as a very warm-hearted, benevolent person. During my difficult early days as a designer, she repeatedly encouraged me and motivated me to keep going. I remain grateful to her to this day. She will be missed. Much strength and love to her family 🩶

I, too, would like to express my sincere condolences to Monika’s family. Monika’s posts were always such a joy to read, and I’ve always admired her creativity and positive attitude. She will be greatly missed here, as Ina and Sonja have already written. Dear Monika, a final farewell to you! 💐

I just received the sad news as well, and it has deeply shocked me.
Even though I didn’t know Monika personally, she was, to me, a very warm-hearted woman who was always there to motivate everyone.

This news makes me very sad, and I can’t believe it.
Monika always had a kind word, and helped and supported anyone who needed help. She showed us and shared with us so many ideas, her dolls, and recipes over many years. She was a blessing to all of us here on CP, and I will miss her very much.

Even though I only knew her online, I found her to be a very pleasant and friendly person.

It’s so sad... Monika leaves a noticeable void here.

Such sad news... I had already been wondering why things had gone so quiet around Moni. From day one, she encouraged me with her kind comments and always responded to my posts in the Facebook groups with uplifting words, so that more people would see them. I thought that was so lovely that I’ve been doing the same for other designers ever since, to support them. Always helpful, always encouraging, and always positive. That’s how I’ll remember her. I wish her family lots of strength and comfort, especially during the upcoming holidays.

What sad news...
Monika designed so many cute things, and she was very active here, too....
She will be sorely missed...
My sincere condolences to her family. I wish them all lots of strength, especially during the upcoming Christmas season, when we miss our loved ones who are no longer with us all the more.

Thank you so much, ruthk, for letting us know. I was completely shocked. Our Moni here from CP—she’s just not here anymore. That made me very sad. I’d also like to offer my heartfelt condolences to the family.
We’ll miss her, with all her lovely knitting projects and the dolls she was always knitting. She was a kind-hearted person full of ideas. Even though we never met in person, we’ve become one big family here on the forum, and now one member is missing. :-(

Oh my, how sad :-( I’ve hardly been active here myself in recent months, so I hadn’t noticed at all and am only reading this thread now.

I am deeply saddened and shocked right now. During my time as an active contributor, Monika was always in close contact with me; we supported and helped one another. Thanks to her legendary “Mowiferse,” I even learned how to knit socks.
Such a kind-hearted soul who loved life and her family so much, who was always there for others with kindness and love. Who eagerly knitted for her two granddaughters and their dolls....
