Is the table runner hype over?

Dear community,
has the big table runner hype from a few years ago died down a bit by now? Do you still have your pretty table runners?

I’ll admit I’m not a fan of table runners. The craze a few years ago went right over my head, since I don’t use table runners and rarely use tablecloths. But for anyone who likes them, there’s a huge selection of beautiful table runners on CP that you can make yourself. For me, it’s just too much on the table. But that’s purely a matter of taste. Everyone can do it however they like.

I used to have tablecloths, table runners, table sashes… the whole shebang, but for several years now I’ve had a glass table that looks best when nothing’s on it. So, flowers or a centerpiece with a candle in the middle, but not a lot of fabric clutter. For meals, I use placemats so things don’t clatter and rattle, but I don’t leave them on the table afterward—I always clear them away.
