Spinning Yarn

Dear users, dear authors,
which of you actually spin your own yarn for crocheting, knitting, or knooking?

Spinning is something I’d still like to learn. I brought back some wonderful alpaca fiber from New Zealand that’s just waiting for me to finally get started.
However, I’d need someone to show me how to spin with a hand spindle.
There are some great videos out there, but I think it’s probably better to see it “in person.”

Spinning—yes, I’d love to be able to do that, too. I’ve already gotten in touch with a woman nearby who offers classes. But that probably won’t happen until winter.

Yeah... if only I had more time, I’d really love to give that a try...

During my “Sturm und Drang” phase (around the time of my high school graduation), I used to participate in medieval markets with friends, and back then I also spun wool with a hand spindle.
Once you get the hang of it, it’s not difficult, but it is time-consuming.
I might do it again “just for fun” for a special project, but otherwise, it’s not worth the effort for me personally.

I even bought a hand spindle just for this. Nothing fancy—I just want to see if I can do it at all.
But it’s been sitting in my drawer for half a year now.... ;-)
I just need more time. Can’t you knit or crochet that too? ;-)))
