Hello everyone!
We’ve published a new, easy-to-understand info article:
“Understanding Yarns & Labels: An Honest Shopping Guide
”. In it, we briefly explain the common certifications (GOTS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, RWS), share practical care tips for everyday use, and provide a checklist for buying yarn.

What we’re (voluntarily) asking our designers to do
So that users and buyers can enjoy your projects for even longer—and so there are fewer follow-up questions—we’d be happy if you added
short care instructions to your patterns / product descriptions. This helps with material selection, saves energy, and protects the finished pieces in everyday use.
Here’s how you can include them (copy & paste templates)
---------------------------------
A) Super short (1 line)
Care: 30 °C gentle cycle, dry flat, do not tumble dry.
B) Short format (5 points)
Washing: 30 °C gentle cycle (wool detergent)
Drying: dry flat, do not tumble dry
Ironing: low heat or do not iron
Note: wash separately, do not wring out
Material tip: for synthetics, wash with a laundry bag/filter
C) Detailed (with material/certifications)
Material: e.g. 100% virgin wool, etc.
Washing: 30 °C gentle cycle, preferably with a full drum, wool detergent
Drying: dry flat, do not tumble dry
Ironing: low setting (•) or do not iron
Notes: reshape while damp; spot-treat stains beforehand
Alternative yarns: e.g. merino, cotton blend, etc.
Synthetics tip (if used): wash with a laundry bag/filter, wash less often
Elements that are important:
Temperature, wash cycle, drying, ironing, possibly certifications/material, 1–2 everyday tips.
Quick certification decision guide for designers
“Does the certification specifically help my customers make a decision, or reassure them about legitimate concerns?”
a) If yes → mention it.
b) If no → leave it out and stick to material/care.
