Neckband on an RVO sweater

Since the wool used is a bit itchy, my question is:
Can you unravel the neckband on an
RVO sweater after it’s finished? Or does anyone have another idea for how to keep it from being itchy around the neck?

...In my experience, unraveling it isn’t possible—or at least it’s very difficult—because you have to thread the yarn through every single stitch.

If the neckband is very wide, you could try folding it outward and sewing it in place.

Otherwise, as a last resort, your only option is to give the sweater to someone who appreciates your handiwork.

 

Maybe you could also sew a strip of soft fabric to the inside of the collar. Then it won’t be itchy anymore.
