Dear community,
Many of you have asked in the forum, by email, and via PM for fixed navigation on the left side. Thank you for all the feedback! We’ve implemented it: Starting now, there is a
sidebar on large screens (e.g., laptop/PC with a wide window).
Where do I find the switch?
At the
lower left edge of the screen, you’ll see a small icon (a split square).
- Click once: show sidebar
- Click again: hide sidebar
Why is this useful?
- Get where you want to go faster: Direct links to Bestsellers, New Arrivals, Recommendations, Trends, Deals, Free, Popular Authors, CAL/KAL & Co.
- Everything at a glance: Quick access to the categories (Crochet, Knitting, Sewing, …).
- Community & help are immediately accessible: Forum, Blog, Gallery, FAQ, Help.
- Less scrolling: The sidebar stays visible while you scroll.
If you don’t see the sidebar
- The sidebar appears only on large/wide windows (at least 1200 pixels wide).
- Tip: Enlarge your browser window or set the zoom to 100%.
- On phones and tablets, everything stays as usual – there is no sidebar there.
Requests & feedback
This new feature was created
at your request. Are you missing any links? Should something move up or down?
Feel free to write it here in the thread – we’ll continue to adjust the sidebar.
Have fun browsing faster!

P.S.
Technical note: The on/off status of the sidebar is stored exclusively server-side in your session (no LocalStorage, no persistent cookie). The setting applies until the end of the session – it is reset when you log out, close the browser, or the session expires after inactivity (session timeout; usually a few hours). The storage is not cross-device, so it only affects the browser/PC currently being used. After switching browsers, using incognito mode, or deleting browser data, the setting may need to be set again. Only the “show/hide” switch is stored, no other user data.
