My real beginnings were back in school, but I don’t have any pictures of those anymore. Most of them were just pot holders and coasters anyway.
But I still have a few things at home from when I started over after a break of dozens of years.
I started crocheting again because a friend asked me to make these little animals from ready-made craft kits—and then I was really hooked again. This was one of the first ones:

And the very first thing I sewed was a teddy bear made from an old shearling jacket—it was really simple: a ready-made nose, no joints—it was done in a flash.
