Granny Squares with a Floral Look

Hi everyone,
I’m still busy with the last few Easter gifts and working on a little granny square bag.
Now I had the idea to crochet the top flap as a semicircle onto the rectangle made of two granny squares. Is that possible? Usually I can always come up with a solution, but today nothing’s working out. Has anyone else done this before?

Hi Kuscheldesign,
I can definitely picture that. The top flap in the shape of a semicircle, which you crochet together with the body of the bag (made up of 2 rectangular granny squares), will certainly cover the opening. Maybe add a button—otherwise it might feel a bit loose to me. Why not just give it a try? Theory is one thing, but practice makes perfect ;-)

Dear Ina,
I’ve already tried something and it looks good. I crocheted a few more centimeters straight across right away to give it a little more depth.
I’m going to start crocheting everything together right now—let’s see how it looks when it’s finished. I’ll upload a picture then, too.
