Watercolor Painting as a Hobby

Dear community,
Do you find time for crafting alongside watercolor painting, or not so much?
Tip: Have you already seen the coloring pages in the shop?

I think that would be great, but I’m absolutely hopeless at painting and drawing—I’ll never be any good at it.

When I think of watercolor painting, I imagine something different from what’s linked here. These are embroidery files with a watercolor look. The idea is to depict embroidery designs using light, shadow, and color gradients, which are then stitched by an embroidery machine.

But watercolor paintings actually created on canvas or artist paper using ink, paints, and water are something else entirely. To me, those are genuine and unique works of art—and not something an embroidery machine can duplicate as often as it likes.

But people who enjoy embroidery will surely view these embroidery designs differently than I do. I think they’re simply two different things that can’t be compared.

Veronika, I’m the same way—totally untalented. My husband, on the other hand, is talented; he doesn’t paint with watercolors, though—he uses colored pencils. Today he finished another great drawing. He couldn’t draw practically anything last year because we were both having such trouble seeing, but thank goodness that’s over now, thanks to the eye surgery we both had.
That’s the Joker’s girlfriend from the Batman movies; my husband told me today that it was a challenge to paint this picture.
