I always glue appliqués on with UHU first
and only then sew them in place…the seam turns out much nicer (for me)!

For crochet appliqués, you should first pin the appliqué in the right spot. Then sew it on with a few loose stitches—don’t weave in ends; just leave it hanging loosely.
Now remove the pins and sew the appliqué in place using a “hidden” stitch. Now remove the thread from the rough stitches. This way, nothing shifts, and the appliqué stays exactly where it’s supposed to be.
