How much yarn do you need for a pom-pom?

Dear Community,
I read in a product description that you should plan on using about 30 g of wool for a pom-pom. How do you handle this?

That depends on the size, of course. A 2-cm pom-pom definitely needs less than a full-grown 10-cm pom-pom.

You definitely need more than you think! The more yarn you use, the denser and prettier the pom-pom will be.
