Happy weekend: August is almost here

Dear users, dear designers,
I wish you a lovely weekend. Are you currently on vacation or school break, or at least have a little time for the garden?

I have a weekend with almost no plans ahead of me. At lunchtime today, I’d like to stop by the craft store to see if I can find a large cutting ruler to cut my fabrics. I’d like to try my hand at making a quilt.

Other than that, nothing planned. The day will surely bring me some ideas. The laundry is piled up, waiting to be ironed. But I don’t really find that very exciting right now.

It’s still rainy today, but the weekend is supposed to be quite nice. It should at least be enough for a walk and a little time on the balcony!
And as always, I’ll be crocheting, knitting, reading… just like on any other day. When you’re not working anymore, the weekend is hardly any different from the other days. Except that you don’t have any doctor’s appointments. 🤣

We’re having guests over on Saturday. I just made a blackberry cake. You can’t buy something like that at the bakery. I baked the cake base myself with eggs from our own chickens, ground the wheat into flour myself, and picked the blackberries fresh—it doesn’t get any more organic than that. I hope our guests appreciate it.

On Sunday, I’ll be resting up after our guests leave and will try to finish the pattern for the summer campaign. There’s still quite a bit to do—quality comes first. If necessary, it’ll just be ready a few days later.

This weekend will be just like any other—spent at home, relaxing.
When I was watering my flowers yesterday, this wasp was sitting on one of the sunflowers. Wow, I thought, I have to take a picture of that! Luckily, it stayed put until I got the shot.

everyone—I’d also like to wish everyone here a wonderful weekend. Enjoy it, whether you’re in the garden or cozying up on the couch when it rains.

Our vacation is over—it was really, really nice traveling along the Main, Rhine, and Moselle rivers. We saw and experienced so much, though I can’t even remember exactly what we saw and did, when, and where. So many impressions to process first.
Anyway, we rode the cable car three times, visited the Niederwald Monument and Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, saw the Porta Nigra, and went to Cochem, Rüdesheim, Mainz, Koblenz, Drosselgasse… and so on.

Food in abundance—six meals a day—we couldn’t possibly eat it all, but everything was so delicious.
Now it’s time to go on a diet.

Sorry I couldn’t check in while I was away. Internet is just too expensive on the ship.
I didn’t bring any yarn with me either—which meant a 14-day forced break from crocheting, but I wouldn’t have had time for it anyway.

Tomorrow, Sunday, I’m going dancing again; I still have Monday off, then it’s back to work.
