Crocheting bags: which pattern is (not) suitable?

Dear users, dear authors,
if you want to crochet a bag / handbag, which pattern is (not) suitable for it?

Good question.... It really depends on whether you want to sew in a lining or not....  
The stitches shouldn’t be too airy or loose, otherwise you might get caught on something while carrying it and snag the yarn; in the worst case, the yarn could then break... 

If there’s no sewn-in lining, the pattern shouldn’t be too stretchy, or the bag will completely lose its shape.
