Attaching Hoods

Dear users, dear authors,
Should hoods be worked in right away, or is it better to sew them on later?

If you want a hood on your jacket or coat, it should be sewn in right away, because the collar needs to be made wide enough so that the hood has room without “choking” you, as we say here. I always sew the hood on permanently, but you can also attach it with a zipper, Velcro, or buttons so you can use it only when needed.
