Dear users, dear authors,
If you want to avoid Christmas stress this year, you can simply start earlier.
Here in this thread you'll find highlights for people who don't feel like cramming Advent baking, Christmas gifts, decorations, etc. into barely 4 weeks.
If you start now, you'll spare yourself the stomach ulcer and get more out of Christmas.
@Authors
please present each pattern with text, image, and link. Please also include the technique, material, difficulty level, and what makes it special.
Good luck

First, start small with a little Christmas tree decoration, great for beginners and those getting back into it

Absolutely right. I started a crocheted Advent calendar for my grandchild, which is supposed to consist of 24 crocheted animals with little gifts hidden in their bellies. I calculated that I need to make 6 animals per month to finish in time. Since I’ve already made 5 animals in the first 14 days after starting, I think I have a very good chance of reaching my goal. And it’s fun. If anyone’s interested: you can find the animals at dadade. Highly recommended!

That’s a great idea, dear moderator. I bought and printed the pattern right away. I’m still working on an Advent calendar for my grandson (see the great animals by Dadadé), but I’m sure I’ll manage that as well. My son is going to be thrilled. He’s a huge dragon fan. I hope my daughter-in-law will forgive me ......................

Now that’s a great idea. I bought and printed the pattern right away. Right now I’m still working on the Advent calendar for my grandson (see the wonderful animals by Dadadé), but I’m making such good progress that I’ll still be able to finish the Advent wreath. My son is a huge dinosaur fan. Hopefully my daughter-in-law will forgive me........................... I hope.................

Well—I’d definitely call that suitable for a kids’ room. Your daughter-in-law can still decorate the shared spaces however she likes....

Woolly Christmas with hand-knitted little trees! If you like, you can use your leftover yarn here to conjure up a whole forest in your favorite colors – trees don’t always have to be green ;-) Lots of beads, sequins, and glittery bits will quickly create just the right mood at home! And of course Santa Claus mustn’t be missing, joining the tree cones in perfect style.

Here’s where to find the Christmas wonder forest!

You’ll be able to enjoy these Christmas ornaments for a very long time. Since a Styrofoam ball is sewn inside, they’re not only beautiful but practically indestructible—perfect for anyone with small children or pets. The three-dimensional star in the center gives these ornaments that special something. Materials: 3 mm crochet hook. Wool/yarn of your choice for a 3 mm hook size. A Styrofoam ball with a diameter of 6 cm or stuffing.

Hello, dear friends,

A wise person plans ahead. And Christmas comes around every year. So crochet Advent calendars for children and grandchildren now, nice and relaxed!

Just gather lots of colorful leftover yarn and crochet 24 colorful shopping bags. These can be arranged on a tray or - like mine - hung on a clothes hanger. That way you can hang the
Advent calendar anywhere, or give it away nicely filled
as a gift.

And when Christmas is over, you can surprise the guests at your Easter table with the little bags filled for Easter, or hide little treats
inside them throughout the year and give them away. This Advent calendar can therefore be used
all year round.

This pattern is very well suited for crochet beginners because I describe and show everything in exact step-by-step detail. The printable template for the red Christmas stars with the numbers 1 - 24 is included.

I hope you have lots of fun with the pattern - Yours, Ina

It's me again. I absolutely had to show you this little pretty gift bag.
I think it's adorable with the cute pompoms.

You can use it to give a special gift to someone dear, or crochet the bag for yourself, your children, or grandchildren.

And if you crochet the bag in pastels instead of Christmas colors, you can also use it for Easter surprises or children's birthdays. There is no more
loving way to wrap a gift. So you get a
universal pattern that can be used all year round.

For the bag, you only need about 80 g of Bravo yarn; leftover yarn would also work. The bag has an ideal size of 20 x 9 x 19 cm (measured with
the handle). The crochet pattern is suitable for beginners because I show and describe everything step by step over 27 pages. We
crochet chain stitches, single crochet, and double crochet. It's not hard,
it's a lot of fun, and you get a unique result.

I hope you enjoy the pattern - Yours, Ina

To make things look nice and festive under the Christmas tree, Christmas gifts should definitely be wrapped beautifully. For example, in this snow-covered little house.

The little house is made of cardstock and measures approx. 18.5 x 24 x 16 cm – so it can hold quite a lot. It is quick and easy to make, sturdy, and reusable.

This Advent calendar consists of 24 individual containers that are glued together. It’s not difficult, but you do need to work very accurately here and start crafting early enough.

The calendar is made from photo cardstock, measures approx. 13 x 30 x 15 cm, is very sturdy, and can be used several times, so the effort involved in crafting it is definitely worthwhile. You can find the templates for it here.

This Advent calendar is also very easy to make, even for craft beginners. Each little tree consists of three layers and a container, all of which are made separately and then joined together using a thin wire – so they can be reused year after year or passed on again and again as gifts.

The little Christmas trees are made from photo cardstock and are about 8 cm tall.

How about these beautiful stars as an Advent calendar? You can fill these stars from the back; there is an opening there.

Crochet pattern: Star / Ornament / Advent Calendar / Garland

Or what do you think of this lovely little gift bag? Make 23 more of them and this also makes a beautiful Advent calendar.

Crochet pattern: Little Gift Bag

Stars and little gift bags are also perfect as small hostess gifts for other occasions too, such as birthdays....
They would certainly look lovely as small gift tags to fill, e.g. with money or sweets.

It’s best if you start now, because December 1 isn’t far away.

This Advent calendar needs very little space to set up, looks very decorative, and can be reused again and again.

The Advent calendar is made of photo cardstock, measures approx. 33 x 28.5 x 6.5 cm, and is very easy to make, but making the 24 boxes and drying the metallic liner decorations takes a bit of time, so it’s best to get started right away!

How about an approximately 58 cm tall crocheted Christmas tree that serves as an Advent calendar ?

The great thing: You can use the Christmas tree as a standalone decorative element and as an Advent calendar. Inside, there are 24 small boxes that offer space for lots of little things, such as sweets or vouchers. You can adjust the size individually to suit your wishes. You can also use the boxes after Christmas for other gifts or as storage.

You’ll probably already have most of what you need to make it at home.

Here’s the pattern.

Santa boot with a difference - here as a roomy and very sturdy gift tote bag!

This boot is made from photo cardstock and measures approx. 18.5 x 21 x 9 cm. With a little crafting experience, it is easy and quick to make; only cutting out the many stars takes a bit of time, so it's best to get started right away!
