Half treble crochet = double crochet?

I found the term "half treble crochet" online. Is that the same as a simple double crochet, or not really?

No, the half treble crochet is not the same as a regular double crochet.

For the half treble crochet, you start and make the first pull-through just like you would for a regular treble crochet
stitch. Then you pull through all the remaining loops at once. So you’re only crocheting half of a regular treble crochet. That’s why it’s called a half treble crochet.
