Bobble Pattern

Dear users, dear authors,
can you only knit a bobble pattern, or can you crochet it too?

Yes, you can also crochet them.

Keep in mind that you can’t crochet bobbles in the round, since the bobble is formed on a wrong side row. 

Petra, that’s not quite right. You can also crochet bobbles in the round. When you make popcorn stitches, those are bobbles, and you make them all in one piece—you don’t need a wrong side row.

@Mel, thanks for the info. I didn’t know that. Then I’ll have to see how to crochet popcorn stitches. I’m not familiar with this stitch at all. So far, when making my lanterns, I’ve always turned the work at the bumps, which I didn’t really like. I’ll give it a try right after I finish reading to see how it works. 

I’ve also made it in rounds—there’s a pufferfish pattern by LaCritza where you simply turn the whole thing.
