Adding safety eyes after the fact

Hey everyone,

I have a question. Lately, I’ve been crocheting quite a bit with chenille yarn, but I didn’t have any safety eyes. I have them now. Can I still add them later? Any way? They don’t have to hold very well. I don’t have any pets or small children who could swallow them.

Well, that’s hardly possible without unpicking the stitches, since the back part goes on the inside. If it’s really just for decoration, then you could just slide the front part in and secure it with some glue.

I’d do it the way Veronika suggests.
You’ll need some glue. Apply it to the stem of the eye and then stick it into the head.
It sounds a bit like a horror movie, but it should work.
